At Dungarvin, our direct care professionals are responsible for providing and coordinating direct services and healthful lifestyle supports to individuals with varying mental and physical disabilities.
Intense Behavior Supports will be provided at these sites. Learn, be challenged and go home tired, accomplished and satisfied every day!
These living supports include, but are not limited to:
supervising
teaching
assisting the individuals in every aspect of their lives according to their Individualized Support Plans (ISP) with the goals of fostering increased independence
choice and empowerment
assisting in maintaining a clean and safe living environment
assisting in meal preparation
completion of various household duties
The CSS must possess:
a sincere desire to provide individualized supports to persons with developmental disabilities
the ability to make sound judgments when given guidance and priorities;
the ability to work as a team member to maintain consistency and quality supports
the ability to communicate effectively with other staff members
Requirements HOURS OF WORK:
Full-time, scheduled approximately 36 to 40 hours per week. Must be able to work a varying work schedule at any/all worksites based on program need. Hours may fluctuate based on need. In the case in which hours direct care shifts are limited the supervisor will ensure hours are scheduled performing other tasks as assigned to provide 40 hours of work per week. This may include traveling to other areas of the state to provide assistance
Qualifications:
Minimum of 18 years of age.
Valid driver's license. State required minimum personal automobile liability coverage on personal vehicle and be willing to transport individuals supported. An acceptable driving record determined by Dungarvin's insurance carrier. Ability to use personal vehicle to provide transportation for individuals served.
Minimum of 3 years experience in residential and/or support services for persons with developmental disabilities required. Preference given to those with additional experience.
Associates Degree preferred.
Ability to work at varied worksites and schedules including scheduled hours on 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift as assigned by program supervisor.
Ability to travel to other areas of the state as requested by supervisor
Must also possess all of the following: A sincere desire to provide individualized supports to persons with developmental disabilities. Ability to communicate effectively with other staff members. Ability to provide leadership to other staff.
DRIVING REQUIREMENT:
Unlimited driving position - Defined as one that requires an employee to drive a motor vehicle as a part of his/her Dungarvin work, including vehicles owned or leased by Dungarvin, and/or to drive a vehicle in which a person served is transported.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:
This position requires the use of computer software applications. It is expected that by the end of the orientation period the employee will have achieved sufficient competency in these applications to satisfactorily perform all job duties as assessed by their supervisor. Required software applications for this position include, but not limited to: KRONOS and THERAP.
